My 1960 bus
« on: December 16, 2009, 12:21:01 AM »
Kinda flippin thru here and realized my 60 bus I have never talked about.

Here are some picts.

one 1960 11 window bus.

This is after I just got her, Sat for like 10 or 15 years in a lot under the Knight street bridge?

Since then, I have a 1776cc and some twin kadron carbs, I added a 68 ball joint front end with 71 and up disc brakes, with porsche drilled rotors up front, and am toying with IRS conversion in the rear.

Rebuilt all the side windows, added safari's, and redone the front bench, and added new seals all around.

I did the standard, h4 hella with some piaa's and changed all the gold trim to black, and touched up some area's.

added a little polish

I have treated all the doors and roof area's, and am just building a new wiring harness, and getting the doors re-keyed.
Hope to have her running the next month or two.

Cut a couple of the rusted sections out.

Working on a little floor prep

Added a 68 front beam adustable with disc brakes and adapters
rebuilt all the calipers and bearings ect

Decided to add a little heat

Just painted all the Rbg parts and backing plates tonight, and all the hardware cleaned
Bought all the new bearing for the Rbg's and gonna drop her a notch or two.

Now Steven, if you're not giving us a ride I need to find a trailer for at least two buggies and maybe three. I've got the holidays booked so lets hook up for the cruise!

With that paint scheme and louvers it sorta has a 80's feel to me, id say the Fuchs are for sure the most appropriate.
