3200 km in 36hrs (now with pic's)
« on: October 18, 2009, 06:42:47 AM »
Big thx to notchback aka Bruce for riding shotgun on a 3200. Km in 36hr roadtrip.

Here's a small update on the new project.
It's an original June of 1968 Meyers Manx.
It was bought and built in late 68, It has many orig Manx parts, Manx emblems front and rear,ABS Dash, Front and rear bumpers/skid plate, roll bar, hard top(looks to be a manx roof) One of the best things are the extra set of wheels from 1968 (not shown in the pic) 14" wide 5 front smooth steel wheels and 15's in the back with the orig tires! This was towed behind the orig owners RV in the 70's...even has a cool tow bar set up.

A few pic's of how I found it.

I found it in San Jose Ca. It had been off the road for some time.
Below info taken from the Samba..
Who knows maybe one of these are yours!

"Here's a shot inside the Newport Beach factory. The bodies are stored with the hoods. The other pieces were stored separately. The best way to ensure you get a good color match between the body and hood is to use the same batch of gel coat. "

Thanks Guys, I'll be posting a lot of pic's as I go.
It's very original down to the Meyers hardware.... That stuff is a bitch to get off as it's all large flat heads and once they get a little rusty they dont want to come off.
