What a blast at the drags
« on: August 29, 2009, 10:05:28 AM »
Had a ton of fun after putting on 26 ::) passes yesterday.

Too bad Darren and Jim broke though.

Here is Geoff and I going at it, the last race of the night I took off the fan belt and was hoping for another 1.7 60',  then Geoff and I would have been fender and fender all the way down the track to a 12.3 -12.4 ish run........well I had water on the starting line and just spun to a dismal 2.1 60',  Geoff took the win and I ended up with a 12.9 @106 to his 12.4@104...I will get you next time Geoff ;D

The stock engine challenge went good too and Silas seemed pretty happy with the turnout.  Way to go everyone

I am going racing in Kelowna tonight so will post more tomorrow.

watching the vids made me almost nauseous from the bouncing around!  I felt like I had ten beers already.  Good racing, Geoff kept beating you off the line making it hard to catch him.

what exactly happened?

Broke a stock cv....I'm surprised I havn't broken them more often, over 50 launches with slicks and many 1.7 - 1.9 60' times.

I raced 8 times in Kelowna yesterday, got up to 11 pounds boost ( had 9psi at mission) with another shim on the wastegate spring,  best 60' up there was 1.79 with a 8.2 @ 83.25mph with the fanbelt still on.....  I never bothered re-jetting the carb to lean it out, I was having too much fun, but the 4300' elevation really sucks the power out of the engine.  Dave with a split window singlecab from Kelowna filmed all my runs, He had fun just listening to every ones comments on the bug.  I got a kick out of the one racer who I overheard saying....I don't want to race the bug ..the staging guy told him...tough luck thats racing...haha.

I also like the last video ...the staging guy is shaking his head after we launched...I had a  1.79 60' on that pass to a 2.6 for the mustang......

Chris it was great to see you get a 12 second run too way to go.

Kevin,

Thanks for posting the videos.  This makes me want to try out your Kelowna track next year...maybe a double at Mission + Kelowna like you pulled off :)
