What type of good quality fanbelt should I used on my 1776. The one I bought from cip isn't that great. My belt is twisting on the pulley. It's only year old . Any ideas ............cheers , Ray.

Go into a NAPA store and get a Gates brand belt.

Thanks Bruce got the Gates belt today @ Napa. Thinking I had a generator belt on the car, instead of a Alt belt. Ray

What number Gates belt did you get? I picked one up and I am getting a squeak at high rpm or during warm up.

Hey Chris, here's a tip for a better belt than the NAPA Gates.  Go to your local Ford Dealer and ask for a JB-361-L belt.  This one's also made by Gates, but it's not notched on the ID like the NAPA one.  IMO, all those notches do is weaken the belt.  The Ford Belt may be NLA; it is in Canada.  A few years ago I cleaned out the western Canadian dealers.  I now have a lifetime supply of the most indestructable belt on the planet! 8)
