Keys
« on: July 23, 2009, 11:49:55 AM »
Where do you guys go for vw locksmith service? Something more then just to cut a key. As it turns out, my ignition key is different then the locks so I can't lock/unlock any of the doors with a key. I need somebody to make me a key for the door and hatch locks. :-\

I've used Keyhole locksmiths in Langley, good work. May be a little far from you though.
The code for the doors is easiest to get at on the slider door handle, remove the screw holding the inner handle on and slide out the outer handle. It's likely the ignition cylinder has been changed and all the doors match, getting the ignition recoded is usually the best route.

Bruce has the key bible, and can tell you what the cuts need to be if you have the code.
