The official start of the GCVWS Weekend
« on: July 18, 2009, 11:24:42 AM »
AVR Import Specialties wants to extend a big invite to our open house in Abbotsford which is the official start to the GCVWS weekend.
If last year is any indication our parking lot will be crammed from one end to the other with cool VW's.  Stop in for some last minute parts, enjoy the BBQ or just sit around and start the weekend off right by being surrounded by VW's.

After enjoying the open house you will only be 10 minutes away from Mission Raceways to experience the 10th Annual DVKK "Strip Show" presented by AVR Import Specialties.

More details available at the link below.

See you in August.

...and maybe stop off at the timmies on 200th just off the highway to meet some folks from langley...

...and then end up at avr around 1230-ish!!

who would be into that?

hey man...it was your silly idea...not mine! ;)

i'm trying to think of meeting places in vancouver close to the hwy and off the top of my head i can suggest....

-the italian cultural center @ 3075 Slocan Street (SW corner of slocan & grandview hwy)
big parking lot...easy to get to...

-chevron @ renfrew & grandview hwy (SE corner)...depending on how many trailers there are it might get a little crowded/difficult to park

-superstore parking lot @ rupert & grandview hwy (NW corner)...big parking lot...relatively easy to get in and out of and headed in the right direction

after we figure out a place to meet in vancouver....how does meeting at 1030am and leaving at 11am sharp sound?

meet folks at the tim hortons on 200th just off the #1 hwy around 1130...leave tim hortons around 1145 and get to AVR around 1215!!!

BP on Grandview would make easy sense and then meet them at 232nd exit. There is a Chevron right at exit. Better parking than timmy's.

i thought about meeting at bp too...but remembered that there is a height restriction when entering and was unsure of whether or not enclosed car trailers could make it through there or not.

chevron works aswell...but the coffee is better at timmies!!!

either way...i'm easy...lets hear some feedback from the city folks who are going to be meeting in van and the langley folks who will be joining up in langley...or someone make the call and we'll do it. :)

I`m ok with Timmy`s or the Chevron at 232. Gavin is right ..... there is more room for pulling over and meeting at the chevron and it will be easier for the people with trailors to manuever around aswell.

WHY THE HELL IS THIS WEEK TAKING SO LONG!!!!!!!!!

Great! I'll try and be there at BP's. I have a few stops that morning to pick up the event shirts and a few last minute things so I may have to catch up along the way.

Lookin forward to the weekend! ;D

The floor has been polished, the parking lot swept and the BBQ's have been gassed up.  All we need now is sunshine and full parking lot @ AVR.

Let the GCVWS weekend begin.

Tracks closed so I hear.
It always seems to rain at this time in august, maybe It should be earlier in the year?

Sorry to all people who've come from all over for our show but the drag night was cancelled due to weather. Unfortunately it was out of our hands but in all the years we've done the show this is the first rain out. See you all at the pancake breaky at Westminster VW tomorrow morn and the big Boston Pizza show and shine tomorrow night
