Where to go in Los Angeles for VW stuff?
« on: June 24, 2009, 10:27:37 PM »
So, either I'll be coming home with keys to a new project, or spending a leisurely few days checking out local LA vw shops. Any suggestions where to check out? BFY (bugs for you) was pretty good, but I think they moved. I was at Old Bug before too, but don't know what they have anymore. Lenny Copp, or Koch's, do they have shops? Any suggestions appreciated!
thanks

Wolfsburg West in Corona, Ask for Mark when your there...tell him I sent you and ask for a tour.

The Bergs shop is cool to say you have been there but not a lot to look at.

Jay Cee has some cool performance stuff

Vee Dub parts Unlimited is probably the only tru VW parts store around, They are in Huntington beach just off Beach Blv

Proformance (Dave Greiner) and Low Bugget (AJ Sims) are neighbours in Orange and are just a few blocks from Berg's.

I agree that Veedub Parts Unlimited is pretty much the only large "walk-in" VW parts shop left...they carry JayCee, CB, RLR, M&H, A1, CSP, Werksberg, Web and other tune-up or interior parts, so you can get much of your shopping list covered in one place :)

So. Cal Imports in Long Beach as well.

These guys treated me really well just before the Beetleball Las Vegas event. Let me change my oil in the back of the shop, and basically rolled out the red carpet for me. 'Standard' Aircooled VW parts place, except they also have a used vehicles and 'being stripped' section that might be of interest. Definitely worth visiting to see their 356 replicas in the back.
