threatening phone calls & email...

we've been getting some threatening phone calls lately (enough of them to cause concern) and an email that seemed harmless at first...but has now added to the pile.

after doing a little digging, lori talked to one of the people that called and the lady said that apparently someone is pretending to be me on some chatroom and is spreading rumours, calling people names and just being a dick.

the chatroom that she was talking about is "yahoo automotive chat". i've never heard of it and never used it. has anyone or does anyone know of this or use it?

I use to get a guy that phoned my work and repeatedly harrassed us i phoned the phone co. and they said if you press #67(i think) it notifies the phone co. but you have to do it 3 times(youd have to check the phone co. to see what rules apply) anyway he phoned enough times that pissed me off to tell him "Do you know who you calling, cause when i find out who you are there will be Hells angels knocking at your door" and he never called again =).   Silas i hope this works out for you good luck!    Bill

I would advise not to use the names of local clubs etc. in a threat as it could turn into a big problem for yourself.

there has been a very strange sequence of events that has taken place over the course of the last 2 weeks that has lead up to this. i'll fill you all in when i have a chance.

serious and severe situation!!!

there is a person (persons) impersonating me on a yahoo automotive chatroom. this person is pretending to be me and is posting very personal information about me and my girlfriend and is threatening the lives and businesses of other yahoo automotive chatroom users. this imposter is also telling malicious lies about me and what i do.

many people have been threatened and in turn have been sending very threatening emails, messages and phone calls to my girlfriend & i. i do not know what motivates the imposter to do such destructive things...but i can only hope that the situation will be rectified as soon as possible. the authorities have been notified and an incident report has been filed. yahoo has been notified and several abuse report forms have been filed. i am also currently gathering more evidence from one of the yahoo chatroom users (a user that was attacked by the imposter) that has been quite helpfull.

i would like to ask all of you to keep your eyes & ears open for any and all info that might be helpfull. please let me know if you come across anything in person or on the internet that may be related to this incident.
