I do not know much about the pricing and i figure the package would be around 9K obo.

http://www.vvwc.ca/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=5777

This is the description that i got from her.

I had them listed on Kijiji for $8500 OBO.    I'm not sure what to ask.
My husband first had a white VW pickup truck.  He had put a new motor in it
when we lived in Manitoba.  About a year later, we moved to BC.  The new
motor has less than 38,000 km on it.
Upon moving to BC, Victor had to go for open heart surgery, and was not able
to drive the truck.  It is a standard, and he had to use his chest/arms as little as
possible.  (Doctor's screwed up).  When he was able to drive it, he and my
uncle were making a trip back to Manitoba.  My uncle tightened the lug nuts on
the tires to tight, and near Calgary, the nuts on one tire let loose, and he lost
the wheel.  There was some damage of course, but they brought the truck
back to BC.
Then, my husband found a second VW pickup truck in excellent condition.  He
purchased it and said he would keep the white one, either to fix up, or he would
keep it for parts.  It still has the new motor in it.

The gray VW truck was the one he drove for the past couple years.  In January of this
year, he took the motor out, to do some tune ups on it, and was wanting to weld
a 'mount' in the truck.  He has the motor on the engine hoist in the garage.  Suddenly,
on February 12th he passed away.  He had the engine  ready to put back
into the gray truck, but unfortunately didn't.

The gray one is the one with the camper shell.  He took the shell off for the winter.
We have it here, and it's ready to be put back on.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

I may be out of the loop on these things, but is it a "little" overpriced. I'm guessing maybe the $3k range? If so, someone should help out by telling her so and not to wait for big $$. There's not much online to compare the price with, is that what makes it desirable? Try a buy and sell and craigslist posting, might get more viewers?

There have been some sold a high 12K and I figure if the new engine has 38K kms and comes with an additinal car for part it would be in the bulkpark. I WAS WRONG.

All points well taken. Thanks guys.

I posted it because the lady  husband just passed in Feb. 2009 has them in her garage. He was a VW guy and his passion may be shared by some on this site. She does not know the price that she should ask for them. She is looking for someone who would come and get it for a fair price and take as I understanded the following:

There is one that was a driver with high milage and he had removed that engine out and was about to intall another motor with 38000 miles of kms (not sure), The additional car was purchased by him as a parts car.

If anyone wants to pull shoots take them all at once at me as, I don't mind taking shoots for a widow/ single mom of two.  :-*

If on the othe hand you may have something positive (advise or offers) that may help her situation, please let me know.

If you are in the vecinity and willing to advise her, sha has a 13 yr old and an 18 yr old sons and perhaps you may feel more confortable dealing with the older son. Please let me know.  8)

They are asking for:

"I will accept $4500 OBO."
