Flodded cylinders

I was out today to start up the baja. did the usual pre start up inspection jumped in and hit the starter and click tried again and click. I think to my self what??
Start poking around looking at this and looking at that then some more of that. Low and behold I pull the plugs out and the are wet so i thinks to myself  "I got water in the cylinders" I goes and hit the starter again and it turns over like no tomorrow and spits out about 3/4 liter of gas . The whole thing was flooded, filled to the plug holes I had the bug parked on a bit of slope mabey 10 deg . Has any one heard of this before and how can I prevent it next time. This is the first time that I have parked it for the winter.(had to get a car going for my son so had it reg)
Just pulled the oil filter and droped the oil plug guess what it was full of gas also. it looked different when I started the car and drove it into the garage there was a lot of blowby coming from the vent tube. I got me a thinking agin I think I am lucky as it only ran for about 5 min or so I hope that I have not done 2 much damage with wash out

Stock fuel pump?  It could have a leaking diaphragm.  If so, it will siphon gas from the tank into the engine.

I agree with Bruce. Replace or rebuild the fuel pump.

Does it have an idle fuel shut off valve on the carb?
If so maybe check that.

pulled the fuel pump off today and it looks good. Could it possible be the float seat in the carb ?

Could very well be a needle and seat issue , anything from wear to a piece of dirt or maybe your float angle is off . aoane more thing its more of an issue with an upright engine but you might want to change the oil if you had it flooded that badly.
