imho, it is a complete waste of time to pay any attention to this whole "karma" bulls#!t. unless of course you're truly concerned about your internet popularity.
the whole idea of a virtual "smite" and "applaud" is just way out of hand.
have we reached the point now where we cannot thank someone in person for something they've done? or call them and thank them over the phone? or even send them an email or start a post that says that they've done right?
likewise for the smite. if you've got a problem...go directly to the source. contact the person by phone or email or in person and resolve the matter at hand like a rational and civilized human being.
dont annonomously punch the keyboard and snicker silently thinking that you've actually made a difference.
this rant is not about any one person in particular...but more about the concept of the whole matter.
