great day!!! geevy, tristan & carie, clarke, bruce and i left vancouver nice and early and had a flawless cruise down to the pnw vintage vw meet. met up with chris & gina, brian & his dad doug, and shane and the moochies and enjoyed a day in the sun!!! great turnout (lots of split window busses, logoed single cabs, 5 split window beetles, a kubelwagen and all the other types too), big swap meet, lots of friendly people (they love us canadians) and some good laughs.

i have to thank mark m for the incredible carne asada lunch (that guy is a very gracious host...and his bitchin oval vert took top honours) and the canadian crew for all the good laughs. good times were had by all and i would recommend more locals going to this show next year. with a bigger convoy we could have even more fun and completely take over!!!! 8)

best of show was the dove blue double cab with corner windows from oregon. highlights for me was the 50 standard split, the og paint kansas church bus, seeing the cragar kombi in person and all the freaking single cabs....

sorry the pictures arent the greatest quality, but it'll give y'all an idea of what went down.....

more to come later....

Leaving home sweet home

Cruising in a foreign land... Their signs were Washingtons head, it was a little weird

The Main event

The cruise home

That was a great show... The cruise was the most fun I've had sitting in a VW for 3 hrs.
Hopefully next time we can have a huge line up of Canadian Cars :o

Thought I'd add a couple of close-ups of a "51" bug.

Kudos to all our neighbors to the North for coming down and sharing a beautiful day.  This years vintage meet was the best in at least the last 6 years.  Tons of beautiful cars.  We appreciate evderone for coming down and sharing a great day.  Thanks for the props Silas.  Was great to see all of you.

Yep, I'd say it was one of the bigger ones in a while, the entertainment was different than the loud rap, kind of fun! I saw the a grey beetle at the Aldergrove border crossing Saturday night, real wide rear fenders.... a local BC'r?

Forget the name but he's the fellow from Bunnys'n'bugs in Chilliwak. You weren't far behind us as they pulled into the rest stop just as we were leaving it. We went to Olive Garden for dinner so you got through the border before us though.

That was a good time guys....Thanks ;)

Hey Silas,

Thanks, for taking down the GCVWS flyers. I don't think any of us made it down this year.
