Well ive been here a month or so now, and this no vw thing is getting me down just curious are there many of these busses around here? what would a fair price range be for something easy to get on the road? and this air care thing are older cars exempt at all?

no exempt unless you have collector plates, which then limits you to drive it only for pleasure.

....and browse craigslist (vancouver, seattle, oregon, california) and othe acvw forums classifieds sections.

you could spend anywhere between $500 & $5000 easily depending on the year and condition. deals come up, you just have to be patient. it's better to not rush into a purchase, but be patient and buy when it feels right. imho, it is well worth your while to consider buying a vehicle from across the border. alot of times, the further south you go, the cleaner the cars are. it may seem like more work (travel, delivery, paperwork, etc) but it can save time in the long run.
