Type 1 Into Type 4

hi, will a type 1 1600cc bolt upto a type 4 trans ?.

friend has a 411 with a blown motor/ i want to lend him my beetle engine.

:!: If the 411 has a engine bay anything like a type 3, and it does, you won't be fitting a Type1 motor with fanshroud, etc in that engine bay without excessive cutting of tin.

Also, though I am not sure, the Tranny on the type 4 might mount up differently (frankly, i don't know).

Even if you did adapt the tranny and cut the engine bay you would still have to deal with significant cooling problems and the fact that lots of exhaust and noise would poor into the car.
