i ran a new fuel line in the pan and was checking it for leaks.
i think my pump is rated for about 3psi see link

i pumped fuel through it then capped it off and let the pressure build up.
the pump never stopped but it did go from definatly being on to very quiet to the point of almost stopping.
i thought it should shut off completley if it hit the right pressure but it did not, close but not off.
with that being said i had no leaks,did i just not let it pump long enough or with a bit of air in the line it could not completly pressurize?

I believe those pumps will always make a little noise while keyed power is on, the rattle a little when dry or no psi then go fairly quiet until the psi drops and it pumps again.

My pump runs all the time.....it's rubber mounted...still drives me crazy!

You must have a Holley pump.

Stock mechanical pumps can work. Rick's car went 12s with a stock pump.

The rotary pump Airspeed used to sell is a good pump.
