Storm Damage!
« on: November 12, 2007, 07:37:23 PM »
How is everyone doing after the storm? We lost power this morning around 8:30 and still don't have it back on. The power company hasn't even started working in our area yet, so it could be tomorrow some time. The top of a tree came down and crushed a car tent (canvas carport). Fortunately for me, I had moved my car out of it about 1/2 hour earlier. I also had another good sized branch come down and took out the windshield of our minivan. There was a lot of random things happen as well (fence down in the horse corral, another one in the driveway and one across thour splitrail fence in front of the house). On top of all the storm damage, we had a water line break just outside the house, so I spent half the day digging that up and repairing it.

Up in the loops winds have been 80-90KMH.
I just about lost my leg when my Chevy K1500 door was blown shut by the wind.
My buildings lost a bit of the siding and was whistling like mad!
If more power is better. Then too much is just enough.
Why do it once when you can do it thrice?

We lost 6 out of 10 of our 4x8 sheets covering our east windows( in case of storms...haha ) ... a few trees down...oh and I woke up to my bedroom window blowing out...booom!!! ...we had high tide in the morning with 3' whitecaps  blowing onto the dock ...looked kinda cool really.
I think Joe the pitbull had it the worst ...the big chicken ...the deaf dalmatian didn't hear a thing , slept right through it

Is that all! ;)  Our highest gust hit 97mph (that's...... 160ish? with sustained winds around 70kmh)

We finally got our power back on around 11:30 last night. Someone told me today that we were on national and world news  .

Well I've never seen tumbleweeds move like they did the other day. I have a friend out in the Sticks(Likely) and she's about 400KM north of here and she lost power for two days.....

Brace yourselves again coasters...
