Can dual dellorto 40's be used on a stock 1600 or are they too big? If so , what size venturies and jets should be used? If not, what is a good price to ask for a complete set (CB linkage, manifolds etc) of rebuilt dual dellorto 40's?

With the correct jetting you can run dual Kadrons so I think the same applies to Dellortos. I read somewhere that Dell are equivalent to one size up of webbers (i.e. Dell 36s are the same as Webber 40s.) I don't know about 44S on a 1600cc.
Samba has 36s, 40s and 44s Dell between 325.00 and 450.00.
I do have a set of faily new Kads with customized spacers that ran on my 1835cc, if you are looking for some.
