here is a funny little story i was driving my bug on the hiway and threw the fan belt but i didnt know it then a rank burning smell followed by idiot lights glowing in the speedo loss of power and coasted into a road side rest area with a mad wife sitting shotgun its only about 30 degrees or so i come to a stop and open the hood with smoke coming out of the vents pretty good no problem i thought when the smoke cleared lost belt i got 2 in the trunk 4 plugs dist. cap wires my socket set and booster cables after it cooled a bit it was time to repair all wires totally melted boots fubared and cap i could not get the alt bolt loose need a lever bar people ask if they can help no way this is coming off with out a impact or big frickin bar so i tell my wife i will do cap and wires and plugs someone will come along ive got dual carbs so three plugs and wires no problem the passenger back side couldnt get in there up pulls up a heavy eqipment repair guy or tool box on wheels whats up he says i tell him  out comes a impact wrench zipp zipp belt is on what are you going to do about last plug in the 70s we use to do this with our bajas jack up back take rear tire off get a whole drill and go threw side fire wall took alittle while to get the old plug out new one in while iwas doing that he made a slick little cover of metal grinded edges smooth a little silicone and two metal screws on goes the tire and the old girl starts firist try   i tell yah only in a old vw
