Ragtop Clip?
« on: July 16, 2007, 03:20:32 PM »
I won't post if in classifieds, because I don't know the deal about it yet. There's been what looks like a 61 in a nearby lane for years, pan separated and in poor shape as it's been left outside to the elements. The only decent part left might be the roof clip and sunroof parts. Maybe the hood as it's been off the ground. I left a note about it as the house it sits at just had a sold sign put up. Might be a member, but I never see any other VeeDubs around it? Anyone got a need for it, either from me if I take the whole mess or I'll pass the phone number on if I hear back? I'll try and get a closer look to the serial numbers to get an exact year, not an oval, but the side windows are smaller than 65 era. Could be saved for the right person, lots of lower rust from no where for the rains to go over the years... I'd guess sitting for 15 years in the same spot.

What's he say, it's too bad it's sat so long in the way he's left it.  As I said, anything is restorable, but it could of easily had a tarp over it and saved a lot of rust repair! I think it will take someone with a lot of welding skills to save it!

If its the one i think it is, you are better off just taking the roof clip and what else is good for a donar. This car is very rusty. Its his sons car, which he left at his place when he moved up north a long long time ago.

I bought it.... you were right about the son being up north. The house sold and he was calling the scrap metal guys this friday if I didn't make him a \"reasonable\" offer. With no pan on it, and the lower 6 inches rusty as mentioned, I cut the roof as low as possible and then the front and rear in sections. I'll try and collect what I can off it then get rid of the rest. I don't think there are any body sections worth saving, the hood is good as well as the deck lid. I'll evaluate the rest and see what can be salvaged! (62 sunroof clip and mechanisms coming up for sale)
