56 Windshield Template
« on: May 28, 2007, 10:38:09 AM »
Hey volks,

I can't seem to source one locally so I guess my only option is to have a piece of glass cut, so...
I am looking for the correct template for a windscreen for my 56 beetle. Anyone have one I can get a copy of?
Or ... better yet, a vendor that can help me out?

TIA, Joel

If more power is better. Then too much is just enough.
Why do it once when you can do it thrice?

Ya it is smaller than a 62... alot smaller actually.
Josh, what did you use as a pattern? an original?
The last one I had cut was cut out of a 63 windshield, but I think it was cut too big... didn't sit right. So if someone has a GOOD template, I'd be happy to pay the shipping etc to get my hands on it.

Thanks for the speedy replies.

yep original, broke it putting it in (actually taking it out after I put it in without the alum trim in it:blush:)also have a lexan one . I could have anouther one cut and ship it over, but it'd be shitty if it broke. or I could just trace it on a hunk of cardboard and courier that over to you, it'd be cheap.

Thanks for the offer Kirin.

Josh that would be great if you can make a template from the original for me.
As far as sending it over, Courier if it is really cheap, or mail it... what ever works.
I'll PM you my mailing addy and phone number if you can do it. Let me know.

Once again, it looks like I came to the right place for some help...
Thanks guys.
