Serpentine belts work well. The odd thing is that it works so well that it will never slip. At least when a V belt slips a tad under high rpms, that means the cooling fan is slowing down. This would be a good thing so that theres a reduction in the chance of grenading a cooling fan.
If the serp system removes the belt quickly its a bonus for track applications. You can pull the belt off quickly.
Many prefer a \"cal look\" which doesn't sway away from the \"look\". I see nothing wrong with that system and if you choose to go that route its a slick setup.
