Stumbled Across A 66 Ghia
« on: March 25, 2007, 10:46:12 PM »
Took the family down to Arlington (Wash) today to look a an RV we are interested in. We did a tour of the RV, and while my wife talked to  the female owner, the male owner took me into his barn/shop to show me a woodworking project that he was working on. Out of the corner of my eye a glimmer of chrome caught my attention. As I peered around the wall I could see the rear 2 feet of a Ghia. Our conversation quickly changed to the Ghia. Looking through the years of dust and the pile of cardboard boxes stacked on top of it I could see the amazing condition of it. He told me that it was a 66 and he had had it for many years and it was his project when he gets time. It was an origional, unrestored perfectly stock ghia and it was solid as a rock. All the pieces were there. Aside from a small dent on the drivers rear fender and the fact that it had not been started in a number of years and the dust and boxes, it could have been sitting in a VW showroom. So, I had to ask. Would you like to sell it? No. :(  Left him my # if he changed his mind.  :)
