Looking For Members In And Around Kelowna

Looking for more VW contacts up in this area ( Kelowna ) .  Workin on a 59 bug , first vw since 1989 so a little rusty on some of the work, flossin ( one of the guys who got me hooked on VW's in highschool) helped me grab some goods from airspeed before they closed doors, narrowed beam , windows and lots of seals.

I 'm in Salmon arm along with mowser guy to get to know is in peachland Johnny vyzmal I beleive that is the correct spellin not sure if he is on the forum Geoff knows who he is .I thought there was DVVK member in kelowna as well .Good luck with the project give me an e-mail if you are up this way . I used to know darren way back when what were you driving and did you do anything with the thunderbugs maybe we know each other  :blink:

Yup we're here, huddled up comfortable like in our homes to stay warm but we are here.  Hibernating you could say, living our VW lives through those on the coast and South of the 49th.  Could be worse though.  We could be in the prairies right now... BRRRRR!

I'm a bit interior and mainland based. I head up to Kamloops once every couple of weeks.... Parents have a place up there.

I recall the name thunder bugs....been so long .....I hung out with darren dilley , jason evans, lance hutchison, kenny merkle, frank lechtner, kelly erickson, rob loutitt,  kevin fraser....i drove a 77 orange rabbit  , graduated from Frank Hurt in 88 ......full name Brent Willis.........known as schvengy....don't ask...ha ha

most of the guys went to Princess Margaret secondary

i knew lance was a bull rider , saw him a few years ago at a bbq at my sis's in surrey. Jason was the best man at my wedding in Oct , kelly lives in jay's  house in new west and j is living in Nunavut with his wife. Darren , j , myself and a few others went skydiving here in twon on my stag....had a blast!!!!!!!!!!!

Teddy is living in Langley i believe , married, two kids, saw him last year at Jason's wedding . Who could forget a guy who would drink 6 beer in about 10 minutes and be drunk the rest of the night .......white rock beach memories ...LOL   :rockon:

I remember dishman, those Pm parties.... I am guessing i might recognize you if i see you ...

My wife grew up here and one of her friends went to Pm  Kelly Jackson , now grant,,,,,,she is 2 yrs behind us.......looking through her annual we new alot of the same people....Georgina church was a friend of mine,  went to my sisters wedding with me back in the day....this is showing the age now , can't remember to much D from all the safety meetings growing up with the gang.... :D ...... :rockon:

I had the engine case too but it disappeared while at Bow Wow getting machined. Oh, well.

I am in Sicamous  and race at Thunder mountain 1/8 mile drags just out of Kelowna  as much as I can, You should come out to also.  Most people havn't seen bugs race there for awhile. Last summer was my first summer out up there.

I also moved up here from Langley 2 1/2 years ago. We need a few more Okanagan vw enthusiasts.

Lineah Dishman was at my 20 year reunion said hi to here I beat the shit outta her moms rabbit one night out dragracing by Overwatie  :lol:  :lol:  :lol: Had a thing for her back then .And yes scottsdale mall rocked and so did White rock before cruising rules and pay parking  :P

hey i live in the westside a few nice bugs and vans in area i enjoy working on my bugs out here went to thunder mountain last summrt 2 quick vws a turbo bug beat up  on detroit steel cool to see i think he was from sicamous and s sand rail maybe we will see u around :rockon:

The bug was mine and had my 1584 singleport turbo running 10 pounds boost.  I look forward to being back this year for the Saturday night street legals to beat up on more U.S. iron.. :blink:

been here for almost 11 yrs and have never been to thunder mountain.....it is about time i fire that up this yr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks for all the feedback ..

I ran into a guy at Bow Wow that recently picked up a 58 bug out of alberta , a blue color , fairly clean  for 3,000  ...he plans to rip it down in the summer and begin the journey. He works at flightcraft.

I would like to get together with you for a beer and shoot the vw shit anytime. I just finished moving and in the process of setting up the garage.
