Looking to have some glass cut for my side, rear quarter and rear windows. Also want them to be able to etch the proper logos as well. Anyone recommend any shops in Van area?

I think DD had new glass made for his 55.

Rick had new glass made for his 54. He had them done by Speedy in N. Van. They did a really bad job of polishing the exposed edges. Instead of the large radius the factory glass has, they did a 3 angle job. I had to spend quite a bit of time fixing that.

The BC motor vehicle act has a law in it that makes it illegal for a glass shop to sell standard glass for use in a car. It must be either tempered or laminated. Because you can't tell tempered glass from regular glass, they will usually want to etch the glass to cover their ass. Ask about this. If they won't sell you glass without their etching, try another shop. The door glass is easy, they can put the etching at the very bottom where it is always below the scrapers. I'm pretty sure the etching has to be done before tempering.

You should talk to Lanny ..but Garibaldi Glass is where all the glass in the 55 came from and the shop next to Rx Auto, Lasered the logo into the glass ..

Project 67 has Garabaldi glass as well.I had it done through Broco .If you useGarabaldi ,be Very specific about etched labels [I had to buff mine out cos they were crooked &ugly .] They also said they had to put the logos on,but if you talk to them directly ,you can most likely fix this problem.

I paid $300.00 (sort of on a barter deal) for the 6 side pieces

All of the tempered glass I've had done locally has had the 'pencil' edge where it's polished. It's the machine they use, they said no to the VW style edge. As for the logos, dig deep into your pockets..$75 per hour for the scanning and design of the logo, then the laser time on each piece. Remember, each pane has the logo in a different spot, right and left sides, so the logo isn't backwards. We had two vent windows ruined due to this.
