\"Someone at the Jericho sailing Centre is giving away his Flying Dutchman for parts/repair. It includes mast and all rigging, 2 mainsails, 3 genoas, and a spinnaker, and dolly. Take it away for free or pay storage and leave it there.
THE CATCH
The transom was ripped out so it needs to be replaced. The break is clean all around so it may not be as big a job as you think but there is definately a few weekends work there.
The rest of the boat seems in pretty good shape so it is probably worth the time to fix, but probably not worth paying someone else to fix it.
The story was that it flipped over, turned turtle and caught its mast in the sand. A motorboat helped free it but by that time the floatation compartment had filled with water, and in towing back to the dock, the water pressure had pushed out the transom.
One further issue is that this is a very high performance boat, not really suited for family daysailing unless you are a pretty good sailer, and there isn't an active FD racing fleet around as far as i know.
To get the boat, go to the Jericho Sailing Centre and look on the for sale bulletin board under monohulls. The owner posted it yesterday and it is still there as of Tuesday 5pm.\"
