Even if my boss wasn't away I'd be there Friday.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

However, the gates don't open to the public until 3 PMish, and now I'm doing the closing legal work Friday for the latest real estate transaction so I may noy be there until Sat. now.

Why do you guys even bother?

You know that no matter how early you get there you are going to run into Boop on the way out with all the cherries. Gloating about how the sellers almost paid him to take it away.

So who was able to make it today and what did you score?? I see VWBoop got some slicks, I found a right snowflake taillight and housing and an absolutely mint 1964 T34 owner's manual en francais. Going back tomorrow for a slower walk about.

i went today afterall, skipped out on school ;)

wasn't much for me there though, i found a gas heater, a 28pic2 and a set of 5 Baja rims with tires
the rims were tempting at $100 but i don't have $100 to spare, i'm dirt ass poor
i was also tempted to pick up a Moose Lodge tap handle for a shift knob, but the guy wanted too much for it
there was a drilled grenade there as well but i figured it was too heavy and might make the shaft walk around

I was kinda hoping Airspeed would be there :(

friend of mine picked up a banjo

good show though

Pretty thin on VW parts.  I saw a lot of parts I have seen in past years.  Rick found a single 6x15 Fuchs for next to nothing from a guy who didn't know what it fit.

Ya, I picked up some almost dead Hoosier slicks for $30, Found a pair of 64-71 bus taillights for $2 (one had an original european bucket - kinda cool), 3 matchbox busses for $3 each, old Hurst shifter handle for a beetle (base wasn't complete) for $2.
Saw one guy walking out with a pair of beetle side pop-outs (those are the kinds of things you can score cheap at these kind of gigs). A lot of these hot rod guys usually have something VW and just want the crap out of their garage. Not a lot out there this year though.
I did buy a Dune buggy on the way home for $300. Anyone see it on Fraser HWY before 232nd. Needs a lot but has super wide vw rims on the back and a bus RGB tranny. Old school buggy the guy had since he was 15 y.o.

James and I walked around for a bit too - I picked up a strut to support my carb for cheap. Was considering buying a set of Porsche phone dials like speede has for 75 bucks, when I got back to them they were gone... Oh well, better than yard work!

Here it is... Manx style?? kinda wierd it has the raised area for the emblem, but I think definately a knock-off (maybe using a mold taken off an original??). Don't know its' fate yet.

I picked up those beetle pop outs. They were early pre 64 pop outs, and they cleaned up real nice. I got them for $20 bucks each(the guy wouldn't go any lower,I tried). $40 bucks for a set of factory pre 64 popouts in good shape. That was my deal of the day. Other than that there wasn't much there, and I was there when the doors opened near the front of the line.
