my spedomiter screams at me, the faster i go the louder it screams. so right now its disconnected... im wondering whats going on here

most likely its the cable, thats a cheap easy fix
did you disconnect it at the wheel or at the speedo?

When that happened to me, I disconnected it and poured a few drops of oil down the tube. That cured the problem for years.

Bruce mentioned that to me when my 67 started screaming and its fixed the problem ever since.
