S.a.s. 1st Annual Auto Show
« on: December 15, 2005, 03:41:32 PM »
Well the kids and I have come up with some preliminary plans for the car show.

It will be on June 10 2006 from 10- 3 Awards at 2:30. It will be held in the school parking lot. $20 per car or $150 per club.

There will be awards (that pertain to this site) for 1980 and prior import stock and also one for custom. Best paint, best interior, best motor, best display and best of show. It will be by spectator votes. There will be door prizes, family games, competitions, perhaps even sumo wrestling (handsome brothers??) bbq, helium ballons for the kids, etc, etc ,etc.

What I am wondering is who would be interested in coming up and whether or not the masses would like me to book a bunch of campsites or a hotel for the weekend. The kids in my class are pretty interested in seeing the likes of VW's and it would be a nice time of year to camp on the Shuswap. Anyways, if this does somewhat interest you and you think you want to go, let me know so I can call well ahead of time to book either a host hotel or campsites as these fill quickly in the spring.

If anyone knows the Air Riders, I would appreciate it if you could pass this on as we are halfway to Calgary.

Thanks
Ink

That's sweet. Please let me know your preference on either camping or hotel so I can try and grab a bunch of campsites early in the new year. Would be sweet to all camp together but sites book up quick so I had best make a call by Feb latest.

Isn't that the Classic weekend? Any other weekend I'd be in.

I agree. A show in the interior would be a first.

I'd suggest June 3rd - the 18th is Father's Day and WCSD is on the 25th.

I was trying to push it as far forwards as I could cause I wanted to give the kids time to finish their projects.
Will get back to you guys next week. Let me run it by the kids.

No speedbumps!  So I take it this is the gathering you were talking about J or are you still wanting to pow wow on the camping thing?

Talked with the students today and they were all in favour of a change to the 3rd. So hope that clears up a few schedules. AGain this is an open show and the awards are broad in category. Should be a great day!!!!!!

Todd. Was thinking that you and I have enough to do to get our own vehicles ready for a show. Perhaps just hook up some VW's this year for the high school show, 2007 start the camping in the Shuswap weekend and maybe incorporate it into the S.A.S.  Auto show.
