Plates/Insurance for flat towing vehicles
« on: June 24, 2009, 07:27:11 PM »
Does anyone know what plates and insurance is required for towing an unlicensed bug with a towbar? Can you use a trailer plate?
Thanks,
Randy

Not sure if you need a temp day decal/ins. I do know using a trailer plate can get you in deep $48t if pulled over or something happens. I looked into a trailer plate years ago for my rail and was told NO WAY NO HOW!

Temp permit is what you need, as stated.  However, don't buy ANY extra liability insurance.  The tow vehicle's liability insurance covers anything that happens with a towed car.  Confirm when you buy it.
