Stock Motor Challenge 2008

i'm happy to report that the 3rd annual Stock Motor Challenge will be run during the AVR sponsored DVKK strip show at mission raceway park on august 15th 2008.

this year promises to be bigger, better, and more fun than ever!!!!

all owners of all types of acvws powered by stock displacement motors are encouraged to participate and join in the fun. if you've never taken a run down the 1/4 mile...now is your chance. the more people that show up, the more fun there is to be had!!!

bump for the stock motor challenge. we've had a few people commit so far...but we still need more.

the more people that come out the more fun we can have!!!! big prizes and good times!!!!! come on people....let's do it!!!!

allright....this year will we will have 1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies as well as participation awards for all participants in the stock motor challenge!!!!

it would be really great to see alot more stockers on the track....so come on out and join in the fun!!

allright...i just put the finishing touches on the trophies last night and i must say they are pretty cool & unique!!

so if you want a chance to win one of these bad boys.....come on out to mission tonight with your stocker and take it for a pull down the 1/4.

the DVKK has stepped up big time and will be supplying a few shirts for participants. they also have been very supportive and helpfull with the trophies/awards.

also, AVR is supplying goodie bags (3L of havoline oil, oil drain plate gasket set, 2 valve cover gaskets) for each participant in the stock motor challenge.

trophies and participation goodie bags will be presented around noon on sunday at the great canadian vw show!!!

big thanks to the DVKK and AVR for stepping up and helping out as sponsors of the SMC 2008. your support and enthusiasm is very much appreciated and i couldnt have done it without you.

also, HUGE thanks to all the participants. you guys are what it's all about...getting the stockers out on the track and having as much fun as possible. there were alot of laughs and good stories that night and i hope to see you all again next year!!

and thanks to the spectators, fans and friends of the SMC. i know it's not always easy watching consecutive 20+ second passes by stock motored ACVW's ( )...but you all seem to respect the fact that we're doing it because we love it...and we really appreciated your support.

that's it in a nutshell...i figured it would be pretty lame to try and win one of the trophies i had made. besides...i had way more fun watching the others duke it out and take home the loot!!! the carlos vs tristan battle royale was out of control and tim & his son colton were having way too much fun!!

i ran...but it was for my own personal enjoyment.

the SMC rules clearly state that no alternate fuel vehicles, such as mexi-beetles powered by bean burritos, are allowed (oh wait...i'm having a beetleball flashback).
