Not been on here in a while I have been travelling for the last 15 months or so (Canada and Ireland) but now I am back in the UK.
My Aircooled has been sat in my garage all that time and one of my brothers has been manually turning the engine over every couple of weeks.
I spoke to my aircooled mechanic and asked what I need to do to recommission it and he said thay are that robust it will probably start, just try it.
I reconnected the battery but knew it to be low on charge so I attached a booster box and would you believe it started first time on the button. It settled down to a nice throaty purr and sounds as strong as an ox. I feckin love this car and I will NEVER sell it. Dare I say its been more reliable than the NB that I use everyday! New fangled technology!
Anyway the ad man slogan of \"If only everything in life was reliable as a Volkswagen\" just came true. I am so chuffed.
