Body Shops?
« on: September 23, 2006, 10:29:59 AM »
Hey,

I am looking for a good VA experienced body shop to finish the blocking and body work,  and final alignment of the body seams on my 66 panel.  Who would recommend who to help me get my bus finally ready for paint. Im hoping for a lower mainland shop who is experienced with bus panels and long expanses of metal.

Help a dubber out!

oh yeah-
if you wanna see some decent step-by-steps for rust repair, go to the samba, search the gallery by submitter under  \"team beer\". A buddy and I did a good amount of rust repair and panel alignment on a 67 Kombi just last month- even a nose job!

this pic pretty much says it all...

for more detailed pics of that bus click the link below.

even tho ryan (shortseurocustom) lives in bellingham, it is just across the border and from the pics i've seen of the work he's done...it is all high caliber.

allthough i personally havent seen any busses done by the feegs, i have seen some of their work and the same can be said for them.

Geez guys, thanks! I still look forward to the day when I actually meet some of you regulars on these forums!!

That ad for the 66 turbo Westy is too funny! I took MOST of those pictures in the ad- MOST of the words in that ad were written by Rick, my good friend and \"builder\" of that project- the pics in bare metal are in MY garage here in Bham!! The new owner bought it, shipped it over to the UK (where it showed up really bummin'... body damaged, airbag ruptured, shift linkages messed up etc) It was used as evidence in a court case against the shippers--- Since the purchase the owner has actually been able to enjoy about 100 miles on it! (he just reran the old ad with a few changes)

THEN- he simply lists it for twice, yes twice the overall purchase price.   I hope he sells it, but that price is insane no matter how \"kool\" the bus might be. The colors will soon date the style, the engine is a bit excessive to use, the price will limit nearly any VW lover and worst of all it's a late splitty.

It's a shame the ad isn't up to date- those BRMs are now on a 58 panel near Bremerton- The wheels on it now are Porsche Boxster of some kind and I've never even seen pics... The airbag setup is awesome but once again I've only seen that pic in the ad... sorry to blow up your thread!
