Frickin Windows Media Player for no apparent reason has stopped streaming and and all video's from the net regardless of the source!!!

I've googled it and found some quasi solutions which I tried but to no avail - anyways anyone have any ideas, the errror message I get is \"not connected to the internet\" which is bull cause it is!

Grrrr - My work Mac may be moving home if this keeps up!

Fkcu Windows Media Player!

Download  Media Player Classic 6.4.8.7 , it's a free download, and it plays Quicktime, and Real files. Do a search.

Edit: Oops, sorry James. I missed the part about streaming. I don't know if MPC does that. But it does do a lot of other cool things.

Do some windows updates and let it reinstall/update WMP.
You don't say what the OS is so I am assuming it is XP if so v10 is needed, if 2K v9 is needed.

Computer is 2 months old - running XP Home - all updates installed
I Have tried V10 and V11 of WMP - no luck. I think I am going to start uninstalling updates that have come on in the last month to see if any of those screwed it up.

Your right the windows updates do not always work, you could try a system restore to when it was last working properly.

OR

Do a google search on VLC Media player, its free to download and use and plays ALL media types, its great, I've not used WMP in months.
