The "blue Roach"
« on: September 13, 2005, 04:39:38 PM »
Well after much delay and too many ball tournaments I'm finally going to get a few weekends to myself to work on the lates POS lame horse in my stable.
I call it \"The Blue Roach\" for reasons that can be easily explained with a few pics.
Anyways, she's a 73 Fasty with 96000 original miles. Everything but the defroster works (even the seat-belt buzzer works!)
I've already started modding the shit out of 'er!
Since these pic's were taken I've added a pair of baby Nike's to the rear view mirror, an alternator kit I picked up from the DDB boys when they were in town and a dent in the hood from when that street sign jumped out at me.

Here she is in all her glory
:

Up next:
4-bolt \"Wannabe\" solid centrelines and new rubber
Lower it a few inches
Just for kicks I'm putting in my old stereo from my first beetle that includes no less than three amps, four 6x9's, two 10\" subs and four door speakers.
Flat black body with flat white roof a la Plasti-kote rattle-cans. I'm still kicking the idea around of using my flame stencil kit I picked up from House of Kolors but I wouldn't want to be putting Collin on the spot  ^_^  and upstaging his car and his sweet flame job. Actually if I do it mine will look like shit. This car's just a joke to me more than anything so I really could care less what it looks like.
That should keep me busy for the next few weeks I think.
-Mike

You need to lower that thing and put some rims on it or get a rainbow sticker for the back

  Dude I thought you disappeared.
I know i know.:(  I've had no time to even look at it until tonight.
I got my alternator kit installed today. Hopefully wheels, tires, and suspension this weekend and then the stereo next week some time but who knows now with school part time and work full time.:(
The hella rep's donating some H4's to the cause as well so I can at least see where I'm going..

And Hans, it's a 73 not a 65! \"Perfume on a pig\" as I like to say. And I already have a resto project on my hands I really can't afford to do both. Not that I would restore this thing anyways!

Here's tha car as of yesteday. No big improvements over the originals but if you look close enough you can see the baby Nike's on the rearview  and the dent in the hood, bumper and fender from that damned streetsign that someone left in the middle of the road - true story!

And Mike, you still need that trailer? No rush just wondering.

Original??  Not a chance in hell of that happening! Stock sucks!
This car's pretty much f*&%ed in the rust department anyways so I won't feel bad hacking the shit out of it. If you want to save it I'll sell it to ya though!
