Well left with girls thurs for fishing derby 5 min outta town van dies dead glides to stop  :( Out come the tools and all my spare parts . Well the dowel from the fuel pump spit out no gas  ]:( Well found dowel and managed to hammer back in but on last hammer glanced off and cracked distributer cap in three spots   Well some well placed tape and some securing dowel from sliding again and all the way to the lake and back ,40 miles 30 of which on logging roads and no more problems .  :) 7 trout and some prizes a successful trip although a little wet . Save again by the best invention yet duct tape . Sounds like the rest of you had a great weekend as well Sorry I couldn't make it maybe next time . hope to get down this summer yet though
Later Outkast . P.S just curious what other people carry for longer road trips in there emergency parts and tool kit might be good to make a list for those of us that drive these older vehicles .Just a thought ?

I could make a killing if I charged rent out on the dunes.
In my rail one long plug wire , coil wire, points , plug condenser, multiscrewdriver, 12 in crescent 8 in crescent, small set metric wrenches, 8 in screwdriver,3/8 socket set, couple wheel nuts tie wire bungy cords (hold up broken pieces ie: shock towers right pointblank), electic tape, lineman plier, don't forget the small file and emery paper and last but not least tow rope!

I look @ this all up front of rail and still can lift the front tires!

I reminded myself today that I should carry a spare condensor and a set of points.

I feel like a cheap whore cheating on his wife shopping at a local store out here in Abby. I feel dirty, I'm going to scrub.....

That's why she's never broken down.  Wouldn't make for good shop talk since you have everything you need.  Binder twine, tie wire, and duct tape make for Awesome stories.

A sign of a quality repair is  no wrinkles in the duct tape.

i hate to say it, but zap straps. i always bring my tools pretty much everywhere, but zap straps have been a saving grace for a few roadside fixes.
Sometimes I get the feeling the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that's not true. Some smaller countries are neutral.
