Firing Problem
« on: December 11, 2004, 01:31:22 PM »
So i just bought a new 009  distributer, put her in, using my points and condensor instead of the pertronix (for now)   so i have the firing order correct, and it is not 180 degrees out, but it wont fire, it just backfires if you crank it for long enough, anyone know what might be causing this? why my car wont fire? I have it setup pretty close to where the timming should be set, cause i used a test light to time it, my coil is also good, and points gap is too, im lost???

Pull a plug and turn it over to make sure you are getting spark...then check your firing order again.

If you are replacing a stock vacuum dist, you have to switch all the plug wires by 90
