My first vw is my 62 beetle. Also for a period last year I also had a \"Trail rail\" that I eventually sold after I figured out it was to much of a project...

My first was a $400 '72 Super Beetle.Lots of body work and a Ford grabber blue paint job...electric antenna in rear tail light...fenders welded on and smoothed over. I didn't know much about VW's back then. Was welding rear fender mount area and smelled something burning

. Melted the rear wiring harness together

Patched it up with a few miles of electrical tape. No heat and -40 winters :wacko:

'63 1500 N with sunroof (a notchback), my High school car. Don't remember seeing another one in so-cal back then, plus it was almost new.

I was 17 bought a Mars red 1300 1 piece windows on empi style 8's and dechromed. from a guy who assured me it was cherry, when i lowered it i found out it had been in a big front ender ....i can still smell his rose bushes burning now....it was somewhat slower than my first car which was a rally prepd sunbeam TI.
