« on: January 04, 2008, 09:39:52 PM »
I got me beetle about a year ago from a member on here. Until a month ago it has been up in my barn waiting for room in the garage. I finaly made room and moved the other half finished MGB project up to the barn. I just started doing work 2 weeks ago and just do whatever I can every now and then when I have time. I have the body pretty much ready to come off. Anyway here are some pics. some of them are pretty blurry

Im in Rockinghorse. Near the pub down at the end of a road.
We cut all the fiberglass off and the body is now off the car but we dont have anywere to put it so its no 2 pipes with 4 sawhorses.  when we have time were going to cut the old pans out with the plasma cutter.

We finally got around to do some work on it. After taking all the junk that we put on top of it off the grinded off all the remains form the floor pans and got the new ones welded it. I might start cleaning up some of the other stuff tommorow. then I can start working on the body.

Moved it out of the shop yesterday to do some sandblasting. Its almost done, just needs a some more touching up at the back. Then it needs to get a bit warmer so we can primer and paint it

Thats to bottom, I'll flip it tommorow when I'm done sand blasting

looks like your doing some good work there! one thing i might suggest is running the fuel line through the transmission tunnel. It's a bitch but you got it all apart so it might not be to too bad.

I second that recommendation.  It took me 10 min to insert a new fuel line in a 66 pan with the body on.  At this point, it will be easy to put it inside.

Thanks for the advice, I'll probably do that.
I started doing some work on the tranny.
I took the axles off

and painted the transmission.

Nice work there GoldFish. I noticed you pressed the bearing housings off. Are you going to narrow the axle tubes?  8)

You need to grind off the paint from the mounting flange for the starter.  Starters don't work very well when they are electrically insulated from the rest of the car.

Forgot I had a thread on here. It's a Baja now, converted to irs, bus transmission, 6" over beam and disk brakes all around. Here's a couple recent pics.
