its kinda odd that majority of all car manufacturers do NOT lower cars off the assembly line. Maybe speculation but the springs in the rabbit might be the same in the GTI. I guess its all about cost per unit coming off the assembly line.

The new rabbits are sooooooooooooooo cheap. If you look at my customer database the honda's and toyotas at my shop have no odd issues just the regular oil changes and simple no nonsense maintenance.  Many of your ford focus, jetta/golf customers have constant stupid issues . These are cars in the same \"class\" lineups.  I'm curious to see if the new rabbits are problematic as much as the older golf platforms. Hopefully VW didn't put the piston rings in backwards on the new rabbit lineup LOL  :unsure:

In Europe they are accepting the fact that oil topups are common. In Europe its not uncommon to see 500ml topup bottles specifically for that purpose. Europeans are smartening up and lowering the viscosity of thier oils. So 5w30 will be more common rather than 5w40 or 10w40.  Infact I now have a huge barrel of group 3 5W30 synthetic from my friends boutique oil company (Blu Lubricants)  That is speced 505.01 VW and the newest Mercedes spec.

I have a 2001 Ford Taurus and the factory recomended oil is 5w20. When I first look at it I thought it was 5w30. I now have 115,000 miles (not km) and have had no problems. It has never been low at the regular oil changes. I did have to have a tune up and the front brake pads replaced and the rotors smoothed out.

Never been a huge Ford fan but I'm happy with this one.

There are alot of ford focus owners out there experiencing a hot rod out the side of the block!! The 5w20 spec should be followed if its recommended by ford. Bearing cavitation eating conrod bearings is quite common in focus owners when they use thicker oil not speced for the tighter oil clearances.

As for taurus owners its very common for the brazilian made low quality aluminum heads to warp. The multi-layered head gaskets in some years are becoming high failure rates. The ends of the head start to tweek upwards creating an excess of .005 gap consuming coolant. If you take it to the ford dealerships I know alot of them will toque the heads tighter    this is with the non resurfaced heads coming in for headgasket jobs!!!   ]

Thats a very nice stance, What type of suspension did you install.

Is it a coil over kit or just springs?

It looks very good with the springs, which is super rare because its very difficult to get a good stance with a non adjustable suspension.
