I am in the final stages (I hope) of registering my 58 bug, what a long bureacartic process this is. When I sent out my registered letter to the last owner on record with ICBC. I was surprised that the letter was accepted by the guy's mom (you can track it on the Canada Post website). The previous owner, who now lives in the US, kindly completed and returned the transfer form, but he no longer has the original registration (APV 250).

So my only option is to get a Notarized Statutory Declaration, indicating the the reigstration is long gone. Soooo.... I have two questions:

1. Are there any good local Notaries that understand my needs? The one close to my work downtown was clueless.

2. Does anyone have a standard template form that just needs \"the blanks filled in\"?

Most large insurance agencies have an in house Notary Public and they are most likely familiar with your problem.

I have not use their services at Metrotown but, There is an agency in Between Sears and The Bay and they have a Notary Public. You may want to call ahead to ensure that He/She is avaiilable before you drive there.

you can also stop by any car dealership as they all employ notaries for titling/licensing purposes.

MOST will help you out.

no problem I just went threw this process, the only difference, all my previous owners had passed away. Any notery public will complete the form all they have to do is fill in the blanks and stamp and sign. All you have to do is pay and submit the form to the local ICBC agent. You are lucky in that you have the last owners signature.--good luck!
