the phone is scary
you think it's scary now. i remember back in the day on denman island we had a party line (not the 1-800-talk-to-boobies-deal), but one line that was shared by a few houses in the same neighbourhood. different phone #'s....same line.
so you pick up the phone to make a call and old lady so & so from next door is talking about her gout to her friend old lady whats her name who's complaining about her burning roids.....or some toddler has picked up the reciever and forgot to put it back down properly, so all you hear is banter from the goings on in the background and you cant dial out until they realize that their phone is off the hook, renedering all other phones on that line useless. that's when my sister brought out her trumpet and blared a high c into the reciever to try and get the attention of the maroons with their phone off the hook.
but that's another story so i'll poke your wall later and then start a group called \"hate-on for party lines\". B)
