Does anyone know of anyone/ any shops that deal in Porsche 356 parts locally (Pac NW). I am in need of a pair of front 356 alum drums. Must be in exc cond in and out.

not a local place, but this place is a Porsche wrecking yard, might work if you cant find anything else. and it is in canada.

x2 for pelican.  they ship pretty quickly also.

stoddard is another good resource. they're based out of ohio. you're better off giving them a phone call than browsing their online catalog.  :D

Thanx for replies... I will check into the Cdn wrecking yard.

Stoddards, Pelican, etc are of no real use in this one as Porsche has not remanufactured the aluminum drums yet, that I can find. So I have to hunt for as close to NOS of a set as I can find to complete my set.

What about Hemmings Motor news?  They have a pretty good classified section for Porsche parts.

hey gavin, are you going for looks or function?

pete from airkewld was talking about making repro porsche aluminum hubs that fit over your drums to make it \"look\" like you're running real porsche drums. there is a guy named foxy from the uk who is in the uk who modified some porsche drums to fit on his car.

i'll see if i can dig up some pics.

Hey Silas, I saw those covers... I have a complete set of front and backs already just want to replace the front drums as the outter faces are a little corroded from the 40+ years. I love the look of those big ass polished drums, especially to see them behind a set of OG Sprints they look killer. But it is more the performance I want from them. They have considerably more braking power than stock vw drums. And they are pretty much a direct bolt on to a beetle chassis. Seemed like a different route to go than the discs up front and type 3 out back...

i thought so...just thought i'd throw that out there.

great idea gavin. killer look and top notch performance all wrapped up in one.
