Check for lean idle mixture/idle speed set too high.

set the carbs according to the directions, no smoke, and my idle is low , i was thinking something to do with the dwell, or the timing, but not sure or maybe i have a intake leak, ? not sure

Intake leak and idle mixture set too lean could both cause the same problem. Is your idle smooth and even? If so you probably don't have an intake leak. Set your timing at 7.5-10 deg btdc. Dwell should be 44-58 deg. Also make sure your throttle cable isn't hanging up-a common problem.

Return spring force? Might need stronger ones.
