70 Single Cab - Price Drop
« on: October 30, 2005, 04:53:59 PM »

70 Single Cab (needs inspection)
these trucks are nice and light - you should be able to make it go fast
Body has usual rust but for the most part quite solid
Neat little truck (Bay singles are VHTF)
We have the deck-lid, apron, front & rear bumper with brackets, tail lights, and backup lights, but we are keeping the motor - we have a long block we can sell with it.
We have replacement rocker panels, and a few other pieces
We also have a disc front end from a later bus that could go with it if you want to run discs (it would need the usual mods, but the trailing arms slide right on to the current beam)
Gates and bed are very nice
Trans is in good cond
Brakes work but may need attention (condition unknown?)
Also comes with a kick-ass monkey head shifter no self respecting VW truck would be without.
Truck is located in Langley.
e (or p)-mail for more details if interested
Can be driven...we'll leave the motor in until it sells

Last price drop $2200 firm (Airspeed forum only)...it is a great truck for the price!
It's in the Buy & Sell next Thursday (@ $2900 OBO)
Would make a sweet shop truck!

I really would like to consider it, but we need the $$ for our 65 project, and don't have enough covered parking for our VW's as it is. Any interest in your 70 from the Samba ad? It really looks like a good solid bus.  B)
If anyone is looking for a good, solid, local westy check out the pics link in 1976bus' signature.

I'd roll that just the way it is, (except the questionable brakes part .)  If I had the money right now...

Sorry guys. We are trading it against Ryan Shorts 67 Kombi. It's a bit of a long story but through a circle of events our 65 Kombi has changed hands. That's where the $ from the sale of the SC would have gone to. Still needing a bus for all our donor Dormobile parts we were very interested in Ryan's Kombi. It possesed pretty much what we were looking to do to our 65 but it was further along, and a more solid base. Ryan had expressed interest in the single so we worked out an arrangement. We really weren't looking to trade except Ryan wanted the SC, and we wanted his bus so it just worked out that way.

We were going to just back burner the Dormobile stuff, but my (12 y.o.) daughter was the driving factor in this aquisition (she is really excited about going to Mexico the year after next in "our Dormobile" so although $'s tight we are going ahead with this to bless her heart. Anyone interested in going to Mexico we plan on going down in an aircooled caravan primarily camping down the Baja and possibly hopping a car ferry from La Paz to Mazatlan.
