You know I think I'm behind the idea of a fathers day show because traditionally most car lovers are men and it seems like a typical father son thing to do. I can't see my mother being very impressed at me attending a car show instead of going out to brunch with her and my mom is into vw's too.

Just thought I'd voice my opinion.

Aircooled Angel:  I agree with you, but its just a nice event to have.  I usually don't spend all day long with my mother, but a nice lunch and presents and some things to let her know that she is appreciated is always what she looks forward to.  we should honor our mothers everyday of the year, not just on the "special day", but my mom sure looks forward to that day...so we usually do something nice for her.

Thanks geoff.  the show 2 years ago was nice.  people should have brought a football or frisbee to throw around.

We put the Mothersday show on for 7-8 years and you would be amazed  at how many mom's and familys come out for a look. I guess it's all in your out look on how you should spend your mothers day. It was a great way for many to get out and enjoy a day that they may have otherwise just stayed home. Some years it would fall on a date other than Mothersday, all depends on the park availability.

Mothersday show, For Car lovers in general is held at Tom the Tire Guy in Surrey.Tommy has had this event now for 7 or 8 years. I always support this show. He also donates all monies to charity.
If you need Tires for you water cars see Tommy... Great guy. Did I mention he is also a Sponsor for the Fathersday show..

Yeah, some years when it would fall on Mothersday there would be a few of us who would cruise out to Tommys in the afternoon. Otherwise if the vw show was not on like last year we all went out to Tommys. If you have never been to Tommyss show on mothersday, get there early if you want a parking spot! I'd say there is easy 100 cars or more. A great way to spend Mothersday.

i didn't know there was a mother's day show (guess i'm outta the loop   ) but it sounds brilliant to me. my mom came to GCVWS last summer, and absolutely loved it cos all the bugs reminded her of bessy. she's only owned three cars in her life -- 2 being bugs. so an afternoon with mum in lonsdale checking out some beetles sounds awesome. count me in if DVKK's holding it again this year.
Sometimes I get the feeling the whole world is against me, but deep down I know that's not true. Some smaller countries are neutral.
