Some older guy "Ben" pushed out a pre 62 split single cab with a for sale sign on 232nd south of Old Yale in Langley. Stopped in. He wants $6500 in it's current "needs absolutely everything & lots of metal work" condition. Said they are really hard to find and he knows of one that sold for $65,000 last year in the states :D He denied it was at auction LOL. I figure IMHO it may be worth $2K if someone really wants a long term SC project. Gates were there and looked OK from a quick glance.

Yellow and white '66 walk through Westfalia? Had the square pop top. Seemed pretty clean and complete. Some paint bubbles in the usual places. Loonie size rust hole under front floor mat. Sunshine Coast between Roberts Creek and Gibsons. Off the road a little bit and up a driveway. For Sale. Add said it was worth $17000 but was open to serious offers.

Ok, i'm down here from fort St John visiting for 6 weeks. It's seems every corner I go around I see a Vanagon, bay, beetle or Tonight I even saw a single cab with slash bumpers, bullet signals and 62 and up taillights sitting in an ally. Is there an easy way to post pictures on here or do I have to send them to a hosting site and post a link.  Oh the single was between a bakery and the fiberglass 356 place in a compound.

Blue bay window (non westy) with a white top and nose. Looked like a 1972 infront of the edge cafe on Yukon street.

Nope, a provincial inspection as it was fresh up from the states... my son works there and excitedly called me to say it was there in the shop... raised him right! ;)

My buddie, who's a Mopar guy, came by for dinner yesterday and was showing me pics of that car parked at Canadian Tire. He thought it was pretty cool. Had a note on the dash on how to start it. I dug up my June 2011 issue of HVW's and it looks very similiar to the Father and Son splits featured. Same car?

I knew I saw it recently, thanks for the pointer! I would say yes it's the same car as it's got the same interior and side emblem from the HotVw's photos as the ones I took yesterday. Nice car and even better to have it local. Hopefully it will show at the Great Canadian!

just got a note back from the previous owner... yes it's the same car. Good article in Hot VW's if you get a chance to read about it's history.

Nope, knew he went by Splitdog on the Samba and remember reading the article about him and his dad doing the pair of 51's! Sent him a PM and got confirmation from the pix! Looking forward to seeing it out for Sunday Drives.
