will an 1800 bus motor fit onto a bug swingalxle tranny??

It will, but as far as I know you will need a special flywheel.

whats involved in changing the flywheel do i have to split the cases??

You don't have to split the case; the flywheel just bolts on. You can buy a custom aftermarket flywheel made by KEP or someone like that. Call Airspeed, if they can't get you one they can probably steer you in the right direction. Let us know what you find. I've considered this swap myself. A \"stock\" big bore motor. :D

Had a 914 - 2.0 in my 54. Ran it for a few years, nice motor but the type I 1914 ran better times at the track. You don't really need a special flywheel. As long as you use the 210mm all you will really have to do is clearance the bell housing. I can't remember for sure, but I think I still used the same starter. What type of cooling are you going to use?
