We will be holding a valve cover racing tournament at the show this year. No cost but you will have to supply your own car. Fairly simple setup, get a VW or Audi valve cover and rig up some wheels!

Cars
10" Maximum Width
24" Maximum Length
10" Maximum Height
15 lb Maximum Weight
Weight will be by Official Scales ONLY
It is strongly recommended that you have a way to add/remove weight easily for official weigh-in time
NO Engines - NO Propulsion of ANY kind
One Valve Cover per Chassis - No Switching Chassis or Cover
VW/Audi Valve Covers ONLY
Wheel can be attached to the car in any manner, but must not extend beyond the front of the valve cover
Nothing can extend beyond the front of the valve cover
Cars must have no less and no more than 4 wheels
No moving or movable weight.
Cars must pass pre-race judges inspection
If car fails pre-race inspection modifications can be made by the owner and it can be resubmitted for inspection once
Track
Total track length is 24ft with 24" being the starting grid
8ft long incline (at 25% grade, or 2 foot raised height for the 8 foot section)
16ft run out length
2 lanes
11" wide lanes
4" high walls on each lane
A starting gate ensuring an equal start will be installed
Racing
Cars will be run in heats of two cars each.
The winning car from each heat will progress to the semi-finals or finals depending on the number of entrants.
The cars are to be launched with their front most part of the car against the starting gate. The first car to have the front of it break the finish line is the winner. If neither car makes it to the finish line, the car going the furthest in its lane wins.
All racing judges' decisions are final
There will not be a friday night cruise or Dyno Day this year. We are going to concentrate on packing as much fun and sweet looking cars into one day as possible! If you are in a VW club, aircooled or watercooled and are interested in attending the Westcoast Showdown as a club please email us to arrange for priority parking for the show!
