hey everyone,
just got in from picking up my 63 from victoria. it turns out that it is a standard beetle! it is solid rust free. just needs to be sanded, and painted. then it is ready to be wired and put on a pan.
keep you updated as i go, and will take more pics when i clean up the garage to give myself more space.

I hope you didn't wash my truck! It's a Ford - it needs the dirt to hold it together!

well. it has almost been 4 months now, and i have made alot of progress. the body work is done and now painted thanks to chris(rustybus) for the advice and lots of help! the pan was cleaned up, and painted with tremclad rust paint. with the help of chris(1976bus) and james buchan we put on a ron lumus 1.5 inch tranny raise. i installed the rear discs, and are now being re-drilled to 5x100 bolt pattern. the body and pan have been mated, installed hood mounts, and ran the electric fuel pump. today nov. 26, i bought a motor for the car. its a 1776 with 40 dellortos, and full flow oil system. have to get the tin blasted, and painted then it is good to go. also have to weld in the new engine compartment. since i am using the tranny raise, i have to raise the side shelves so the line up with the cylinder tin! after that is done it is just assembly and buying all the small shit like hood release stuff, door handle and crank, etc, and all my seals. hope to be done now by mid febuary!

-body on pan

-rear discs, and cleaned up pan

-the new motor-tin to be blasted and repainted!

-cut out engine compartment to prep for new shelves that are raised

-scat procars to be re-upholstered

It looks like you might get a little more life out of a set of tires.
I wish mine was that far along.
