Falls On Its Face

I just started to look over this T4 2165 with dual 40's. I have one question. If at idle, I slam the throttle down, motor stalls. If I rev motor a couple of times and pan it, no problem..........where to start??
Also really rich smell to exhaust.

Jason what's your jetting? Dellorto's?
I can't remember what you have. My guess is it is way retarded at idle.
Should be
55 idles
140 main
180 air
35 pump
32 vents
Timing should be 12 idle and 28 max advance. 009 will have to limit your advance on your dist so you can get 12 at idle and 28 max. Bend the stop tab abit.
I have lots of dellorto jets to try if needed, And only a set of 28 vents which will give you lots of bottom end.

Ohya if you pull out a push rod and give me the measurement I can give you the stock length to see if there really is a 78mm stroke in there.
